Essay Writing Topics - Why Writing Essays Should Not Be Based On Popularity
Essay Writing Topics - Why Writing Essays Should Not Be Based On PopularityEnglish writing topics are an essential part of an essay, whether you are preparing for a college or university-level exam or you are writing an essay to pass an essay writing competition. In college English composition classes, we were taught that topics in a composition are crucial to the strength of our essay. As I was taking college essays, I wondered why. What does the topic matter? Well, for one thing, it determines whether your essay is a strong argument or an unpersuasive essay. If you can't make a strong argument with just your own knowledge and experience, or if you are unable to use proper grammar and spellings correctly, you are going to fail on your essay. This article will give you the lowdown on what you should avoid in order to prepare for a college-level writing assignment. We were taught that writers write effective essays when they write from their own experience. In other words, the more rele vant information you can provide, the better. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done. One of the biggest problems with essay topics, though, is that they are rarely relevant. For example, your college-level writing assignment is going to ask you to explain why you like The Best Thing About Jesus was his clothes! Why don't you describe why you liked snow? But why is it important to focus on this topic? I believe that if you can't clearly state why you are writing, then it is almost impossible to get a good topic. Therefore, in order to write from your own experience, your essay should be based on something that is so compelling that the reader doesn't want to skip ahead to find out what you actually liked about Jesus. In addition to being written from personal experience, the best writing topics are also the ones that are interesting. So if you think you want to make an interesting topic, this should probably be the most difficult step. Writing topics based on topics that the pro fessor wants to write about is not always as good as writing something that you really believe in. Nevertheless, if you can figure out a way to make the topic interesting, your essay should be the result of a thoughtful and honest effort.Another problem with writing an interesting topic is that there are only a few people who are likely to find it interesting. Obviously, if you like watching soap operas, then your topic for your college essay is probably going to be: 'I watched a lot of soap operas!' If you like reading about Shakespeare, then your topic is going to be: 'I read a lot of Shakespeare!'It is very unlikely that any person would like to read an essay written about, say, the Detroit Lions' chances of winning the Super Bowl. Therefore, you can understand why writing topics about anything you like is so hard.
